Day 1 - An inside look at diplomacy

Do a deep dive into international diplomacy.  Learn about diplomacy both from the perspectives of a Mexican Embassy and from those in the Canadian Government who regularly deal with diplomats.  Understand how government departments are dealing with key issues such as NAFTA or the trade tariffs currently being imposed or threatened by the US government.  Explore with those who are currently responsible for the work how.

Day 2 - Explore the Parliamentary and Central Banking Systems

Get an inside peek at the Canadian Parlimentary system, not just by touring Parliament but by speaking directly with a Member of Parliament and their legislative assistant who makes it all happen. Then take some time to understand the Canadian Central Bank System and understand the role of currency in making democracy work effectively.

Day 3 - University and Policy development

The government processes to analyze policy and draft legislation are just as important as the parliamentary processes that make them happen.  Speak with students at one of Canada’s top international relations universities to understand their perspectives and then compare their views with those who actually do the work.

Day 4 - Learn about how government is reinventing itself

Policy addresses what needs to happen, but more and more the world is being transformed by changing HOW things happen.  Government is no different.  It needs to transform itself by implementing the best tools and approaches to accomplish its objectives.  Learn about how Canadian governments drive innovation within their environments.
